Efram Ishaq, Co-Deputy Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), said that the "Equal Citizenship Alliance," which was announced last Saturday, is an alliance that "brings together political parties, movements, groups, and civil society organizations from different Syrian cities."

The Syrian Democratic Council was represented at the conference by the council's Co-Chair, Leila Qara Man, and the two Co-Deputy Chairs, Ali Rahmon and Efram Ishaq.

Efram Ishaq told ANHA agency that "the goal of establishing this alliance is to unite Syrian forces under a single program and vision for Syria, to work together to build trust among Syrians, and to rise after many years of political repression and war, following Syria’s liberation from the Bashar regime."

Ishaq pointed out that the alliance aims to include as many Syrian forces as possible, saying, "The door is open to all parties, figures, and activists. The goal is to organize society in all political and social aspects and to promote a culture of peace among all Syrian communities."

Regarding the groups within the new alliance, Ishaq explained, "There are several political parties that have been active in Syria for a long time, more than fifty years. The Syrian Democratic Council includes many parties with a history of political work in Syria. These parties represent all the main communities, and some have been involved in political work for two decades or more, in addition to several civil society organizations and activists."

It is worth noting that a press conference was held last Saturday in the Syrian capital, Damascus, attended by a group of political parties and civil society groups, including the Syrian Democratic Council. During the conference, the establishment of the "Syrian Equal Citizenship Alliance," known as "Tamasok," was announced.
