Disagreements over wages between Turkish mercenaries in Libya

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state refuse to go out to Libya, following their salaries were reduced after the fighting there stopped, as they were receiving about $2,500 per month.

The dispute over salaries hampers the transfer process, as some of those there have stayed there for more than a year, although the transfer process between mercenary groups must take place every three months, according to the Observatory.

The Observatory pointed out that a number of Syrian mercenaries have been present in Libya for a long time have never returned.

In September 2023, the Observatory reported that about 3,000 Syrian mercenaries had escaped from military bases in Libya, where they fled in Libyan cities with the intention of working or searching for a way to immigrate to European countries.

Worth to note that a number of fighters fled last year, the number of Syrian mercenaries in Libya was estimated at about 7,000 fighters, according to the Observatory.
