Several villages in the northern and western countryside of Manbij canton are subjected to daily bombardment by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, which caused significant material damage and losses, and led to casualties among the villagers, but the targeting did not weaken the will of the people in those villages.

Citizen Fatima Al-Ahmad, a resident of the village of Al-Kawkli, which is subjected to indiscriminate bombing on a daily basis, says: “Our village is being bombed on a daily basis by Turkey and its groups, and this bombing is causing great material and psychological damage and creating a state of terror and panic among the elderly and children.”

Fatima referred to the latest targeting operation, and what resulted in it: “Yesterday, the village of Al-Kawkli was hit by 8 or 9 random shells, as the bombing was between populated houses, which led to one of the village women being exposed to a state of extreme terror that led to her fainting, and she was immediately transferred to the hospital".

Fatima Al-Ahmad pointed out, “A number of shells fall on homes and others destroy agricultural lands, and this bombing led to great material damage.” She added, “The goal of all this bombing is to terrorize the people of the village, create a state of terror in the area, and displace the village residents from their homes and lands.”

We derive our steadfastness from our military forces

Fatima Al-Ahmad stated, “This bombing continues along the villages located on the front line, but the people are steadfast in their villages, and this type of bombing and attack always occurs, but every time our military forces were on the lookout and thwarted every attack that occurred on our village and on the villages located on the front line.”

Fatima stressed at the conclusion of her speech, "We believe in our military forces because they are our sons and sisters. They are ready to sacrifice their lives so that we can enjoy security and peace. In its turn, we say to the Turkish occupation that no matter how much the occupation tries to escalate its attacks and its attempts to empty our region, it will not achieve what it wants, and we are steadfast in our land and in our homes and we will never submit to this criminal occupation.”

The scenes captured by ANHA's correspondents in those villages show the extent of the destruction caused by the Turkish bombing to citizens’ property.

For her part, citizen Wafa Al-Alaiwi from the village of Al-Yalani confirmed, “We in the village of Al-Yalani are bombed and beaten every day by Turkey, and all of this bombing comes randomly on our villages and homes, which leads to children being frightened.”

Wafa Al-Alaiwi noted, "These targets deprive us of sleep at night because the bombing comes without a specific time and we are forced to stay awake all night for fear of being exposed to one of these missiles. Even on the day we are not bombed, we are in a state of fear and do not know where and when the bombing will happen to us."

Wafa Al-Alaiwi said, "We know that the goal of all this bombing is primarily to displace us from our land and our homes. Despite all this, we, as the people of these villages, will remain in our land and will not leave it."

Wafa Al Alaiwi stressed in conclusion, “Our military forces are sacrificing the most precious thing they have for the sake of this land, and if it were not for their determination and insistence, we would not have been able to remain with this strength, because we believe in them and we take from them the courage to stand and resist.”
