Demonstration in Sweida demands return of kidnapped, self-determination

Hundreds of residents of Shahba city in Sweida participated in a mass demonstration, calling for the return of kidnapped individuals to their families, the restoration of villages under the control of factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government, and the guarantee of their right to self-determination.

Today, Shahba city in Sweida witnessed a large protest attended by hundreds of locals, expressing their continued rejection of violations committed by factions of the Syrian Interim Government against their areas.

Demonstrators raised slogans demanding the return of abductees, the restoration of villages under the control of the Interim Government’s factions, and affirming their right to self-determination, as well as ensuring the protection of civilians from any threats or attacks.

Participants also voiced their condemnation of coercive policies that have led to the displacement of many residents and created a state of chaos and instability, stressing the need to support local and international efforts to protect civilians and restore usurped rights.
