Demonstration condemning massacres against Syrian components held in Aleppo

The Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement organized a demonstration on Tuesday to condemn the ongoing violations carried out against the Syrian people, particula Alawite community, most recently the massacres carried out in Homs, holding the photographs documenting these atrocities.

The demonstrators, estimated to number in the hundreds, gathered at al-Zeitoun (the Olive) Roundabout in the Ashrafiyeh neighborhood, carrying banners with "Enough for shedding the civilians' blood," "Syria is the mother of civilizations, let's all protect it," and "Brothers in the land, not in sectarianism" written on, alongside the flags of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement.

The demonstrators marched through the main streets of Ashrafiyeh, chanting, "One, one, one… the Syrian people are one."

Upon reaching the Revolution Martyrs Roundabout in the same neighborhood, the demonstrators held a minute of silence. Then, Khalil Mohamed, the administrator in the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Youth, delivered a speech in which he pointed out that, despite a year having passed since the collapse of the Ba'athist regime, violations and massacres against Syrians, especially young people, continue to this day.

He emphasized that these violations have caused widespread displacement, similar to what the residents of the Afrin and al-Shahba regions, occupied by Turkey, have been exposed to.

In conclusion, he noted that attempts to exterminate communities based on sectarian or religious grounds will not succeed, but will instead lead to reactions that reinforce adherence to culture and identity.

In turn, Bari Ararat; the administrator of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement stated that on the first anniversary of the forced displacement of the people of Afrin and al-Shahba, and with the massacres continuing in the coastal region, Sweida, Homs, and other Syrian areas, "we affirm that these crimes were not isolated incidents, but rather a systematic policy to plunge society into fear and divide it by targeting civilians and silencing free voices."

She asserted that the massacres in the coastal region and elsewhere are part of a project of intimidation and fragmentation, not a conflict among the people, and emphasized the rejection of turning the victims' suffering into political tools or exploiting their blood for political gain.

She declared that the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement stands by all victims without exception and rejects all forms of massacres and violations, describing them as unjustifiable crimes.

She also emphasized the Movement's belief in the role of youth in confronting the culture of fear and defending freedom, dignity, and equality. She called for the formation of a national youth front to rebuild awareness and affirm that Syria's future is built by its united people, and that justice, uncovering the truth, and holding criminals accountable are essential prerequisites for any reconciliation or stability.

In closing, Bari stated, "Memory does not die, and the blood of the innocent will not be exploited to tear us apart, but rather to remind us that Syria's future is our all responsibility. We will remain a voice for freedom, and refuse to allow this tragedy to be repeated because Syria deserves to rise to a future worthy of its people."
