Democratic National Project: Strategic vision for resolving regional crises

Political and administrative figures in Dirbasiya described the Democratic National Project as a long-term strategic vision for resolving regional challenges.

In this context, Abir Hassan, an administrator in the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), explained that the project is based on the principles of freedom and justice for all peoples. It aims to empower various communities to live together in a society that preserves their cultures and rights, allows them to learn in their own languages, and enables them to live freely.

Hassan emphasized that the project is the product of decades of struggle, not a temporary initiative. She noted that the project, founded by Abdullah Ocalan, seeks to consolidate coexistence and democracy, highlighting that communities have developed their capacities to self-manage and achieve tangible progress under this vision.

She also warned of the sensitivity of the current stage, urging the strengthening of political awareness to avoid falling into enemy schemes or targeted conflicts. Hassan stressed the importance of supporting the “Peace and Democratic Society” process and called for the physical freedom of Abdullah Ocalan as the originator of the project.

Suleiman Khalil, an administrator in the Democratic Union Party, added that the project represents a forward-looking vision spanning over a century, offering an alternative to traditional solutions that have failed to address Middle Eastern crises. He emphasized that it is based on coexistence among diverse communities while respecting their cultural and linguistic particularities.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Khalaf, a member of the People’s Council in Dirbasiya, noted that the project reinforces the principles of democracy and equality among peoples, despite the challenges it faces. He asserted that realizing this vision could end oppression and injustice in the region and restore hope to its populations.
