As part of the genocidal attacks launched by the Turkish occupation state on the region of North and East Syria, journalist Sharvan Sido (Agid Roj) was targeted yesterday while covering civilian protests at Tishreen Dam, which led to his martyrdom.

The Martyrs' Families Council in the city of Hasakah set up a mourning tent for the martyr, who hails from occupied Afrin, in the Mufti neighborhood in Hasakah, where his forcibly displaced family resides. Dozens of journalists and media professionals flocked to offer their condolences to his family, stressing their continuation of the approach of free journalism

In the condolence tent, Muhammed Amin Mutlu delivered a speech on behalf of the Democratic Media Union, in which he offered his condolences to the martyr's family, and touched on the struggle waged by martyr Agid to cover the events of the Rojava Revolution and North and East Syria, since 2012, passing through the coverage of the resistances of Afrin, Shahba and Aleppo in the face of the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries

He touched on the role of the martyr in covering the protests of the people of North and East Syria, in Tishreen Dam in the face of the attacks of the occupation since January 8.

Mutlu pointed out that the Turkish occupation state, which fears free pens, has recently targeted many journalists in North and East Syria, such as ANHA agency's correspondent Cihan Belkin and journalist Nazim Dashtan, as well as the martyr journalist Aziz Koyluoglu in South Kurdistan

Mutlu stressed that the Turkish occupation will not be able to silence the voice of truth, promising the martyr Agid and all the martyrs of democratic media to follow in their footsteps and adhere to the approach they took to achieve their dreams. It is noteworthy that the martyr Agid Roj was born in Afrin into a patriotic family, and joined the revolution since the beginning of the revolution in 2012, and remained a sacrificial and brave fighter on all fronts of war and resistance, and took his place at every point of resistance within the Rojava revolution and worked to cover it in the media, and revived the legacy of free media in his life, and did not deviate even an inch from following the truth. For this reason, he became a target for the Turkish occupation
