Local condemnations intensified following the massacre carried out by factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government on Saturday evening. The factions directly targeted civilian homes in the rural area of Deir Hafer, east of Aleppo, using drones and artillery shelling. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of seven civilians, including women and children, and left four others with varying injuries.

The Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party issued a statement describing the massacre as a “flagrant violation of international laws and a clear breach of humanitarian principles.”

The party emphasized that the attack aims to spread terror, destabilize security, and undermine the hopes of Syrians for peace and stability.

The statement held the Interim Government “fully responsible for this crime” and called on international powers, human rights organizations, and humanitarian bodies to “take urgent and decisive measures to hold those responsible accountable and to stop the ongoing bloodshed that has lasted more than fourteen years.”

The party also stressed the “necessity of uniting the true national forces to build a new Syria a democratic, decentralized state based on justice, equality, and human dignity, far from violence and extremism.”

Meanwhile, the Democratic Union Party in the Raqqa region issued a statement read by the co-chair of the party office, Manaf Al-Mousa, in front of the party office building in Raqqa city, in the presence of civil and women’s institutions and party members.

The statement strongly condemned “the violations and assaults targeting civilians in Syria,” affirming that this “attack constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights principles. It is part of an aggressive policy threatening the security and stability of Syria and the entire region.” The party expressed solidarity with the people of Deir Hafer and other Syrian areas subjected to similar attacks.

The statement called on international powers and the United Nations to “assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities to stop these violations and to work seriously to protect civilians and spare them the horrors of war and aggression.”

It also emphasized that “the will of the people is stronger than all tools of oppression and destruction, and such crimes will not deter us from upholding our legitimate rights.”

The statement rejected the “false claims” made by the Syrian Interim Government’s Ministry of Defense media accusing the Syrian Democratic Forces of responsibility for the massacre. It affirmed possessing evidence including photos and names proving the involvement of armed factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense.

The Democratic Union Party concluded its statement by expressing full confidence in the Syrian Democratic Forces, describing them as “the sole guarantor of a free and dignified life.”
