Death toll in Sweida massacres rises to 1,677, including 452 executed civilians

The death toll from the Sweida events has risen to 1,677, including 452 who were executed in the field during the escalation that began on July 13.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented an additional 23 victims from Sweida province, including five women, who were executed in the field by personnel from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, along with their affiliated auxiliary forces under the authority of the Syrian Transitional Government.

These executions occurred during the bloody events that erupted in the province on July 13 and continued until the declaration of a ceasefire on July 20.

With this latest update, the number of individuals executed in the field has risen to 452, including women, children, and medical staff—underscoring the scale of violations committed within only a few days of escalation.

The total death toll since Sunday, July 13—stemming from clashes, field executions, and Israeli bombardment—has reached 1,677.

Among the victims are 20 members of the medical staff at Sweida National Hospital, who were executed on-site by security forces from the Defense and Interior ministries.
