The head of the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation, Ashhad Al-Salibi, said that Damascus International Airport will begin operating international flights starting January 7, according to SANA.

Al-Salibi said: “We announce the start of receiving international flights to and from Damascus International Airport, starting on January 7.”

On December 23, the Damascus Airport administration announced the suspension of flights until January 1, 2025, with the exception of those that obtain special permission from the Civil Aviation Authority.

Damascus International Airport was evacuated of all employees on December 8, and all flights were stopped due to the military operations that preceded the fall of the Baath regime.
