DAA's delegation meets members of Sweden-Kurdistan Network

A delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria DAA met with a delegation from the Sweden-Kurdistan Network to discuss the Syrian crisis, efforts to combat terrorism, the issue of ISIS mercenary detainees and Turkish attacks on NE Syria.

Yesterday, May 23, the representative of DAA in Europe, Abdul Karim Omar, the representative of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Scandinavian countries, Shiar Ali, and the representative of the Administration in Sweden and Ali Ali, met with a delegation from the Sweden-Kurdistan Network consisting of Ola Möler, Head of the network and member of the Foreign Relations Committee in Parliament for the Social Democratic Party, Stefan Olsson, the member of the Foreign Relations Committee in Parliament for the Conservative Party, Lotta Fornarve, Member of the Foreign Relations Committee for the Left Party, Kadir Kasirga, Member of Parliament for the Social Democratic Party, in the building The Swedish Parliament in the capital, Stockholm.

At the beginning of the meeting, DAA explained the general situation in Syria after more than 14 years of its crisis without any prospects for political solutions in the foreseeable future, the repercussions of the crisis between Russia and Ukraine and the new crisis between Israel and Hamas on the situation in Syria.

The Swedish delegation was also informed the latest developments in NE Syria, and the challenges facing the Autonomous Administration from the political, economic, and security aspects. The issue of ISIS terrorism was also discussed although it was eliminated militarily but it is still active through its sleeper cells, which are active and taking advantage of Of the security vacuum due to the Turkish attacks, in addition to the file of ISIS detainees and the necessity of trying them,as wyas the file of their families in the Al-Hol and Roj camps.

There was talk about the Turkish attacks that systematically target infrastructure and services, which creates a major humanitarian crisis that puts the lives of millions of civilians at risk, and if it continues, it may push towards mass migration.

The need to develop and strengthen the relationship between the Autonomous Administration and Sweden was discussed, regarding many issues of common interest, such as the issue of "terrorism", immigration, humanitarian aid, and the political process in Syria.
