DAA praises Yazidis’ resistance in defense their existence, dignity Êzî holiday

On the occasion of Êzî (the fasting holiday), the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, in a statement, extended its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the members of the Yazidi community in the region, across Syria, and throughout the Middle East, wishing them a holiday filled with goodness, peace, and tranquility.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration emphasized in its statement that the Yazidi community is an original and longstanding component of the historical and cultural fabric of the region. It highlighted the contributions of the Yazidis over many centuries as a model of adherence to human values and preservation of identity and culture, despite the persecution, erasure attempts, and denial imposed by various regimes and forces.

The statement praised the Yazidi community’s resilience and resistance in defense of its existence, dignity, and cultural legacy. It reaffirmed its commitment on this occasion to protect the rights of the Yazidis, safeguard their religious and cultural freedom, and strengthen their role as a key partner in building a future based on justice and equality.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that Êzî holiday represents an opportunity to renew hope, promote the values of peace and freedom, and enhance the spirit of brotherhood and coexistence among all components of the peoples of North and East Syria, contributing to the consolidation of stability and social unity.
