Council of Sheikh Maqsoud، Ashrafieh neighborhoods comments on latest developments in Syria

The statement was read in front of the Yazidi House Center in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo by the member of the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh Neighborhoods, Manan Jaafar, with the participation of administrators, heads of councils, civil institutions and political parties in the two neighborhoods.

The statement read:

"In light of the rapid developments witnessed by Syria in general following the collapse of the crumbling Damascus authority in front of the attacking factions supported by regional countries, we in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods hold the Syrian government fully responsible for its intransigence and monopolization of power, rejecting all forms of dialogue and not accepting other cultures.

The statement added, "We in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, and our number exceeds 400 thousand citizens after the displacement of the people from some areas emphasize that we are part of the history of Aleppo and the people of Aleppo, and we confirm that we are the owners of the land since the dawn of history in Aleppo and our homes and properties are in it and we live in these two neighborhoods with a Kurdish identity with the rest of the components of the proud Syrian people."

The statement made the point clear that we also seek to build a future Syria with the participation of all spectra without discrimination or fanaticism. Let us be one hand to build a pluralistic democratic Syria, we hold all parties that practice the policy of emptying the neighborhoods by inciting the people and pushing them to go to Afrin without international guarantees, and we call on our people to stay in the two neighborhoods and not to be dragged behind the propaganda of Facebookers linked to the agendas of the Turkish occupation.

The statement concluded by saying, "We also call on the United Nations organizations to carry out their responsibilities by delivering all the necessities of life and means of livelihood to the people, and we salute all our people in protecting the two neighborhoods and salute the units of the martyr Jian Tolhildan and the protection forces of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh."
