QAMISHLO

Today, political, social, and administrative forces, along with the Autonomous Administration of Jazera Canton, issued a statement to the public, read at the Martyrs' Roundabout in Qamishlo. The event was attended by dozens of representatives from political and social entities, as well as officials from the Autonomous Administration, wearing military vests and carrying weapons.

The statement read:

“The historic resistance being displayed at Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê Bridge for nearly two months against the Turkish occupation is, at the same time, a continuation of the resistance against the terrorist organization ISIS.

The great resistance shown by the sons and daughters of diverse communities, Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Syriacs, Armenians, Circassians, Turkmen, and all peoples who believe in the democratic nation, is growing stronger day by day in the struggle against the Turkish occupation. We affirm that just as ISIS mercenaries were defeated, the defeat of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries is inevitable.

Today, amid these challenges, events, and schemes targeting the region, the Syrian Democratic Forces are leading a great resistance, presenting the world with two choices: either democracy or barbarism, either women's freedom or the male-dominated authoritarian system, either we choose a beautiful and free environment, or we suffer devastating consequences for both nature and society.

At this moment, we call on all the peoples of the world, the Middle East, and influential forces in the region to take a clear stance and express their position against the crimes committed by ISIS and the Turkish occupation mercenaries. We affirm that until the Cradle of Humanity is protected, the resistance of the peoples of North and East Syria will only grow stronger.

For two months, the peoples of North and East Syria, from all backgrounds, have been resisting at Tishrin Dam with dignity, expressing the human will. Every day, thousands of people from the region head to the dam and join the ongoing activities there.

In the face of violations and attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, who directly target defenseless civilians, the spirit of resistance against them continues to rise. We urge all peoples to recognize that we are living through an imposed war, witnessing with our own eyes the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation against children and women. This is a brutal and merciless war, in which many civilians have been martyred. What is necessary at this stage is to continue our resistance and struggle with determination and perseverance until victory is achieved.

In conclusion, we extend our greetings to the struggling Syrian people who demand their freedom and salute their resistance. We send our special regards to our people in North and East Syria who are organizing acts of dignity. We offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs and wish them patience and solace, as well as a swift recovery for the wounded.

We, the Autonomous Administration in Jazera Canton, along with political parties, civil institutions, and women's organizations, declare our commitment to the call for general mobilization and announce our collective joining of the Syrian Democratic Forces. This is a responsibility that falls upon all our citizens, administrators, and youth. In this historic phase, we must answer the call and take on our responsibilities.

We also call on everyone to join the Syrian Democratic Forces to protect our dignity and shape our future. We are confident that victory belongs to our people and our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces.”
