The committee, which operates under the Economic and Agricultural Council of the Autonomous Administration, confirmed that the centers will be closed at the end of the official working day, marking the completion of the current season’s supply operations.

The committee had opened 10 collection centers across various areas of the canton on June 4 of this year to receive wheat from local farmers.

The centers witnessed active supply movement from the first day, and some were gradually closed after reaching full capacity.

The committee stated that the supply process went smoothly, with general satisfaction among farmers, who responded positively to the adopted collection policy. According to the Media Office of the Economic and Agricultural Council in Jazira Canton, the total quantity of wheat received this season amounted to 128,000 tons.

The Autonomous Administration had set the purchase price of wheat at 42 U.S. cents per kilogram, as part of its efforts to support farmers and promote agricultural stability in the region.

In a related development, the Monetary and Payments Office in North and East Syria has been disbursing farmers’ payments since July 5, according to an organized plan to ensure invoices are processed as quickly as possible, an effort that contributes to supporting the local economic cycle at the end of the agricultural season.
