Clerics call for unity, cohesion to protec NE, Syria

Reactions across the diverse communities of NE Syria continue to emphasize the need to reject hate speech and bolster harmonious coexistence among all groups.

 Sheikh Adnan Al-Alawi, the representative of the Democratic Islam Conference in the General Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, highlighted the challenges facing the region due to violations of the Turkish occupying state, which seeks to destabilize NE Syria.

 He stated, "Today, we must stand united with all our communities and sects to deter any aggression threatening our society and targeting its social and moral fabric."

 Al-Alawi further affirmed that clerics and religious scholars have a crucial role in fostering a culture of coexistence within places of worship and across the community to safeguard the region's security and cohesion.

Hussein Ali Al-Hussein, the cleric and educator, echoed this sentiment, quoting the Quranic verse, “And hold fast to the rope of Allah, all of you together, and do not be divided.” He called for uniting efforts among all communities in the region.

He emphasized that Kurdish and Arab blood has mingled with the blood of all other communities in NE Syria, affirming the need for unity in the face of any attempts to undermine the region's stability and security.

 Al-Hussein stressed that efforts to spread division and hate speech will not succeed in areas where people have lived together harmoniously for centuries. He concluded, "Today, NE Syria stands as one united and cohesive people."

Abdelqader Ibrahim Al-Mahmeid, the member of the Al-Bayt Tayfihi clan, also spoke, citing a Prophetic saying, "I was sent to perfect noble morals," and the Quranic verse, “O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.”

 He emphasized that the region's long-standing coexistence among diverse communities and sects demonstrates the strength of social ties.

 Al-Mahmeid attributed the people's awareness and unity as key factors in defeating terrorism and praised the role of the Syrian Democratic Forces in countering threats to the region.

 In conclusion, he stressed the necessity of unity to protect the region and build a new Syria founded on peace, brotherhood, and mutual love.
