Clashes between gunmen, Damascus government forces in Daraa countryside

Violent clashes erupted between gunmen and Damascus government forces, after the gunmen attacked a checkpoint of the latter in the northern Daraa countryside, in response to the continued detention of a citizen and his child in the capital Damascus.

Local gunmen attacked the "al-Tira" military checkpoint of the Damascus government forces between the cities of Jassem and Inkhil, with light and medium weapons after they blocked the road in the northern Daraa countryside.

This came in response to the continued detention of a citizen and his child in the capital Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

As a result, violent clashes erupted between the two parties, coinciding with security tension in the area, without the clashes resulting in any deaths or injuries on either side.

This comes amidst the chaos and security chaos in the areas of the Damascus government in general, and Daraa in particular, as a result of the presence of many armed parties and manifestations there.

Thus, the number of attacks in Daraa, since the beginning of January, according to the documentation of the Syrian Observatory, has reached 312 incidents of security chaos, all of which took place in different ways and methods, and resulted in the death of 295 people.
