Civilian shot dead in northern Homs countryside

A civilian, identified as Haider Younes Mustafa, in his fifth decade of life, was killed after being shot by unidentified gunmen in a new security incident in the northern countryside of Homs.

According to ANHA correspondent in Homs, unknown assailants fired three bullets at Mustafa while he was inside his car on the road linking the villages of Kafarnan and Al-Ghajar. He died instantly after sustaining critical head injuries, while the perpetrators fled to an unknown destination.

Local sources told our correspondent that this is not the first incident targeting the victim’s family. Mustafa is reportedly the third member of the same family to be killed by unidentified gunmen in less than a year, raising widespread questions about the motives and circumstances surrounding these crimes.

The area remains in a state of anticipation and concern amid the absence of official information regarding the identity of the attackers or the motives behind the crime, as calls mount for an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
