Political parties in Kobani held a meeting aimed at strengthening unity and preventing the spread of hate speech. The meeting was held under the slogans: “Let us work for unity and amplify the voice of Kobani’s people,” and “Let us reject hate speech and violence and protect social peace.” It resulted in the formation of a council to discuss developments in Kobani and to communicate with the institutions of the Interim Government.

During the meeting, participants discussed the situation in Kobani and developments related to the January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government, in addition to the issue of integration.

The meeting took place in Al-Furat Hall in Kobani, with the participation of notables and tribal elders, members of civil society organizations, representatives of political parties, and intellectuals.

The meeting began with a minute of silence, followed by a speech from Kobani-based writer Hussein Mohammed Ali, who welcomed attendees and said:

“We have gathered here to find solutions. We must understand the current situation and the stage we are going through, and we should be a source of hope for our people.”

He also noted:

“Across Kurdistan, 29 uprisings have taken place, and we are part of this legacy. Given these achievements and victories, we must protect them.”

Lawyer Farhad Baqir then presented an overview of current developments, stating:

“There are points that must be clarified regarding Kobani’s situation, and work on the integration file must proceed swiftly.”

Leila Ahmed, a member of the Relations Council of the Democratic Union Party, said:

“Our city, Kobani, has a unique historical significance. It has written history and become a source of inspiration to the world. It was the first place where ISIS mercenaries were defeated, and we must protect this city.”

Khezna Ibrahim, co-chair of Kobani University, also spoke, emphasizing:

“We must become a center for solutions that serve all our people.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the issue of integration with the Interim Government, and a 31-member committee was formed to negotiate with the government on matters related to Kobani.
