The Educational Curricula Foundation in North and East Syria began working early this summer to change educational curricula in order to keep pace with developments and meet the needs of the era. In this context, the opinions of teachers and students were taken.
The first phase has ended
According to the information we obtained from the administrator of the Curricula Foundation, Darshin Khalil, the first phase of the process of changing the curricula has ended, as new books have been printed and distributed to schools.
Darshin Khalil revealed that the changes included the content of the books and teaching methods, as the curricula of the Kurdish, Arabic and English languages, physics, chemistry, science, mathematics, philosophy, history, geography, society and life, music and sports have been changed.
Teaching Method
Previous experiences have resulted in some changes to the teaching method and its enrichment. The new method aims to develop the aspects of research, responsibility, cooperation and inference among students, as teachers will ask students to conduct research on the topic of the lesson as homework. During the class, the teacher will not only explain the lesson, but will also engage students in discussions by asking questions, and students will be able to express their opinions and evaluations.
Continuing the process of changing the curricula
Changes will be made to the curricula of grades two, five, eight and eleven for the academic year 2025-2026, and to the curricula of grades three, six, nine and twelfth for the academic year 2026-2027.
The last change to the curricula took place in 2021.
