Cell leader linked to killing of 3 security personnel in Sanmin arrested

Daraa Governorate’s Internal Security Forces arrested Walid al-Fallah, whom they described as one of the leading figures of the cell involved in the killing of three of its personnel in the city of Sanmin, two days after the incident, which occurred during a security operation to arrest a wanted individual.

The Internal Security Forces in Daraa Governorate announced the arrest of Walid al-Fallah, one of the leading figures of the cell involved in the killing of three Internal Security Forces personnel in Sanmin, in the Daraa countryside.

According to SANA, the Internal Security Forces said the three personnel were killed and others were wounded while carrying out a security operation to arrest a wanted individual in Sanmin. An armed group targeted the patrol, triggering clashes with its personnel during the operation.

On September 17, the Internal Security Forces announced that three of its personnel had been killed and others wounded during the security operation, and deployed additional forces across the city following the clashes.

The following day, the Internal Security Forces announced that they had located the cell they said was responsible for the killing of the three personnel. They said they seized weapons, ammunition, explosive devices ready for detonation, and equipment for manufacturing explosives inside the homes of its two leaders.

Early today, in the latest development, the Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of Walid al-Fallah, confirming that they were continuing to pursue the other individuals involved and would take legal measures against them.
