Calls for women's unity during International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women
Women's movements and organizations stressed the importance of uniting efforts and strengthening women's solidarity in the face of tyrannical patriarchal regimes, while women and men in Deir ez-Zor Canton marched on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls tomorrow (November 25 of each year), women's movements and organizations in the NE Syria organized several events and activities today.
For its part, the Women's Office of the Democratic Society Movement said: "On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is the title of the continuation of the struggle against all forms of violence produced by the male mentality and imposed on society, we pay a militant salute full of pride and gratitude to all women activists and defenders of women's rights who resist in prisons and under the yoke of slavery, oppression, slavery, massacres, and also women activists and fighters."
"We renew our pledge to all women strugglers in the resistance and struggle to reach a dignified life of security and peace, to end the regime of torture and genocide, to access the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to achieve societal justice in which all peoples and cultures coexist freely and democratically," the office said in its statement.
Beirut
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Coordination of the K Star in Lebanon saluted all activists, revolutionaries and activists in the field of women's freedom and against all types of violence.
In a statement delivered by the members of the Coordination in Beirut, it also recalled all the women who defend freedom and human dignity around the world, from Palestine to Kurdistan, and every rebellious woman who comes alive for a just world.
The statement pointed out that systematic violence against women is the result of the patriarchal mentality that generates all kinds of violence, explaining that all the targeting in Kurdistan and the attempt to eliminate female entrepreneurs by the Turkish fascist regime are caused by the patriarchal regime's fear of free, organized and resistant women, and for this reason it is waging an undeclared third world war targeting women and seeking to silence their voice.
Deir ez-Zor
Coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on tomorrow (November 25 of each year), dozens of women and men in Deir ez-Zor Canton took to the square and marched to condemn violence and demand women's freedom.
The march started in front of the Executive Council building in the Ma'mal area, north of Deir ez-Zor Canton, with the participation of members of the Zenobia Women's Gathering Council and members of civil institutions in the Canton, carrying pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan and banners with the phrases "With the philosophy of women, life is freedom, protect yourself" and "No to violence against women."
Zahra al-Tayeh, member of the Zenobia Women's Gathering Council, pointed to the seriousness of violence against women amid the absence of laws supporting their rights. She called on all women to fight to build a democratic society that guarantees their freedom.
Chanting "No to violence against women", "Women, life, freedom", the march ended.
Girkê Legê
In a related context, the K Star organized today a lecture, under the slogan "With the philosophy of women, life, freedom, protect yourself", at the office of the Workers' Union in the town of Rımelan, attended by Girkê Legê people, members of AANES institutions and members of the K Star.
After a minute of silence, Video presented the martyrs Rojger Helen and Asia Ali, who carried out a commando operation against the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company Toşaş in Ankara on October 23.
Then the administrator of the K Star in the city of Qamishlo Sozdar Afrin gave a speech, in which she said: "The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is a day of struggle and resistance for women's rights, and a strong will brings us closer to victory."
"We will fight and resist to achieve the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the freedom of women, and we will follow in the footsteps of our martyrs," she stressed.
The lecture ended with the chanting "The martyrs are immortal."
SHAHBA
In the same context, the Student Union in the village of Tal Qurah in Afrin and Shahba Canton organized a march in which students and teachers participated carrying banners reading "No to violence against women", pictures of martyrs and chanting "Martyrs are immortal", "Long live the resistance of leader Abdullah Ocalan".
It then made a statement in front of the Sardam camp council headquarters, which was read out by Zainab Mahmoud and Guly Jawish.
The statement stressed that "women are able to defend their rights in the face of men's injustice and confront the death sentences issued against them, and all women chanted the slogan "Women, life, freedom", and today we renew the pledge of our struggle against all violations and brutal practices committed against women.
