35 political parties and movements in the North and East of Syria region issued a statement today regarding the escalation in the Syrian coast, which stated:

"In light of the escalation of violence and sectarian incitement in Syria and the continued suffering of civilians as a result of military operations and escalating tensions, especially the fighting operations in the Syrian coast and the killing of unarmed civilians, we condemn the killing of unarmed civilians and killing based on identity, and we affirm our firm position on the necessity of immediately stopping all acts of incitement, violence and fighting on all Syrian lands, and holding the killers accountable through legal and transparent means, and putting an end to the chronic suffering of the Syrian people.

The only solution to get out of the current crisis lies in adopting the Syrian-Syrian dialogue as a basic path to reach sustainable solutions that meet the aspirations of all Syrians. We stress that a political and peaceful solution is the only option to ensure the future of Syria, away from conflicts that only lead to more destruction and displacement. We also emphasize the importance of civil peace as a fundamental pillar for preserving the fabric of Syrian society and preventing its disintegration.

Building the future of Syria requires an approach based on partnership between all its components, ensuring justice, dignity and equality for all, without exclusion or marginalization. We reject any attempts to impose unilateral solutions, and call on the Damascus government to commit to a path that ensures the involvement of all national forces in shaping the future.

In this context, we demand the establishment of a transitional justice structure in accordance with the United Nations charters, the opening of a transparent and independent judicial investigation into all killings and massacres that targeted defenseless civilians, and holding those responsible for these violations accountable, ensuring justice and redress for the victims and their families. The impunity of perpetrators of crimes will only lead to more chaos and instability.

We emphasize that the future of Syria can only be built on the foundations of peace, justice and equal citizenship, far from violence and exclusion. Accordingly, we call on all parties to prevail over the language of reason and dialogue, and to work together to end the suffering of the Syrians and achieve a lasting peace that is worthy of their sacrifices and aspirations.
