After two days of intensified clashes between the forces of the Damascus government and militants associated with the former regime, along with the rise in massacres and violations against civilians on the Syrian coast, there has been a large-scale displacement towards Lebanese territories, specifically towards the border area of Akkar. Thousands of people have fled from the coastal areas of Syria after security confrontations, seeking refuge in Alawite villages in northern Lebanon.

Lebanese sources revealed that thousands are arriving in five or six Alawite villages in Akkar, with some homes now housing dozens of people. These sources also noted that the number of arrivals in one day reached 10,000, with displaced people from the Syrian coast crossing through illegal border routes.

In this context, local reports indicated that dozens of families entered the Hmeimim base in the countryside of Latakia.

Sources mentioned that these families waited for hours before the Russian forces allowed them to enter the base.
