Britain expresses concern over military escalation in Aleppo

Britain has expressed concern over the clashes in northern Aleppo and the civilian casualties, calling on all parties to de-escalate and engage in dialogue.

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office expressed its deep concern over the clashes in Aleppo and the civilian casualties, which were initiated by mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government, stressing that achieving stability in Syria is of paramount importance. It called for an immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and the protection of civilians.

The British Foreign Office emphasized that it continues to closely monitor developments on the ground in the region.

The neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh and Bani Zeid have been witnessing attacks since yesterday by mercenaries of the Amshat, Hamzat and Nour al-Din al-Zenki groups within the Turkish-backed interim government forces, resulting in the martyrdom of 7 citizens, including two women, and the injury of 54 others, while the shelling continues on the neighborhoods densely populated with civilians.
