Bishop of Jazira and Euphrates calls for brotherhood, peace to face current crises

 Bishop Mar Maurice Amsih delivered an inspiring message to the people of Syria, particularly people of North and East Syria, during an exclusive interview. His message centered on the importance of brotherhood and peace as essential principles for confronting the current crises.

 Amsih began his address with a quote from Jesus Christ:

"Love one another as I have loved you. My peace I give to you; my peace I leave with you—not as the world gives."

 He explained that these words serve as a clear call to uphold love and unity. He remarked: "In these times we are living through, we call for love and peace for all Syrians, especially for the people of Jazira. This region has long been renowned for its history of brotherhood, peace, and coexistence among all its components, including Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Yazidis, Armenians, Circassians, Muslims, and Christians alike."

 Amsih highlighted that the region's diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division:

"Our communities resemble a bouquet of flowers, each one offering its own unique fragrance, enriching our region. This diversity is what makes our region and Syria as a whole truly exceptional. We pray for peace and security to prevail across our country because every citizen of this land deserves love and peace.

 In conclusion, Bishop Amsih stressed that the only way to confront internal and external challenges is by strengthening national unity and embracing the values of brotherhood.

He asserted that attempts to pit the region’s components against one another will fail if its people preserve their spirit of love and coexistence.
