Barzani meets Turkish FM, MIT's Kalin, ahead of Parliamentary Elections

The President of the Federal Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani arrived in Turkey and met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Turkish Intelligence( MIT ) head Ibrahim Kalin.

Two days before the start of the parliamentary elections for the Federal Kurdistan Regional Government, the President of the Region, Nechirvan Barzani, headed to Turkey on an official visit to meet with Turkish officials.

Pro- KDP media outlets reported that Nechirvan met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara, in the presence of MIT head Ibrahim Kalin.

Information has also been received about the possibility of Nechirvan meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The footage captured during the meeting between the two parties shows the Turkish and Iraqi flags being displayed, while the Kurdistan Regional Government flag is hidden.

Kurdish activists and politicians believe that Nechirvan Barzani's visit at this time comes within the framework of a Turkish effort to push the Democratic Party to exploit it in its electoral campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 20.
