Attack and downing of drones in two incidents in S Kurdistan

Southern Kurdistan witnessed two simultaneous security incidents, which included targeting a headquarters belonging to the "Kurdistan National Army" opposed to Iran in Erbil, and downing two unidentified drones in Duhok, without any casualties being recorded.

Security sources told Roj News Agency that a drone targeted the headquarters of the "Chemshar" faction of the "Kurdistan National Army," an Iranian opposition group, within the administrative boundaries of Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan. The perpetrators of the attack and the extent of the damage and casualties remain unknown.

In a separate incident coinciding with the attack, US forces shot down two unidentified drones in the Bajil sub-district of Aqrah district in Duhok province.

The sources explained that US fighter jets intercepted and downed the two drones. The wreckage was scattered around two villages in the sub-district, causing limited material damage but no casualties.

No official statements have yet been issued identifying the perpetrators of the attack or revealing the nature of the targets the drones were attempting to strike.
