Arrest of two ISIS mercenaries inside al-Hol Camp

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out a precise security operation inside al-Hol Camp, located south of Hasakah, resulting in the apprehension of two ISIS militants who were active within the camp.

The Media Center of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) issued a public statement today announcing the successful execution of a targeted security operation that led to the capture of two ISIS operatives inside al-Hol Camp, situated south of Hasakah city in al-Jazira Canton.

According to the statement, the SDF’s Special Military Operations Unit (TOL), with support from the International Coalition forces, conducted a high-value operation on July 28, 2025. The operation resulted in the detention of two seniors responsible for security-related activities on behalf of ISIS within the camp.

The statement further clarified that the captured individuals are considered senior ISIS seniors, previously involved in operational activities across Syria and Iraq. They continued to orchestrate terrorist operations from within the camp by bolstering ISIS’s influence among the camp’s residents.

The Syrian Democratic Forces concluded their statement by affirming that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle ISIS sleeper cells, prevent any attempts to resurrect its network in the region, and ensure the security and stability of local communities.
