Armita Geravand's family confirmed that there was “no hope for her survival,” following information published by media outlets that said that Armita had become “brain death.”

 Bahman Geravand, Armita's father, confirmed to Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, “Armita's doctors told us that her brain has failed and there is nothing we can do, there is no hope of survival.”

The official Iranian news agency IRNA reported that Armita definitely appears to be in a state of “brain death, despite the efforts of the medical staff.”

Iranian official media reported on Sunday (October 22) that Armita who fell into a coma earlier this month, after being beaten by the Iranian “moral police” in the Tehran metro, under the pretext of “ For violating the country's strict hijab rules, she is " brain death."

Human rights groups, such as the Iranian Kurdish organization Hengaw, were the first to announce the admission of Armita to the hospital, and published pictures of the 16-year-old girl on virtual media, while she was unconscious.
