The statement condemns Moradi’s trial as unfair, emphasizing that she now faces the imminent risk of execution. Amnesty International further stressed that Iranian authorities must halt all plans to execute political prisoners due to the lack of fair trial standards.

Warisha Moradi was arrested in Sanandaj, Eastern Kurdistan, on August 1, 2023. After two weeks of interrogation by intelligence authorities, she was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, where she was subjected to pressure and torture to extract forced confessions. After five months, she was moved to the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

Amnesty International is calling on Iran to immediately revoke her death sentence and ensure justice for all political prisoners.
