The state of general mobilization continues in the city of Al-Darbasiyah and the regions of Rojava, in parallel with the ongoing implementation of the provisions of the January 29 agreement between the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the Syrian Interim Government, Ahmad al-Sharaa.

In this context, Raziyah Ibrahim, an administrator in the People’s Council of Al-Darbasiyah, stated that the continuation of the general mobilization is due to the instability of the overall situation and the lack of full clarity regarding the political vision. She pointed out that the agreement has not yet been fully implemented and that the files of integration and stabilization are still under discussion.

She added that there are concerns about the possible resurgence of ISIS mercenary cells and their exploitation of the prevailing ambiguity, which necessitates remaining in a state of readiness to protect the region.

She explained that implementing the agreement requires time due to the complexity of the political, service-related, and military files, noting that among the most prominent issues under discussion are the files of detainees and the displaced, in addition to enshrining the rights of the components, particularly the Kurds within the future Syrian constitution, in a way that guarantees the rights of all components in the country.

For his part, Maswaj Mohammed, an administrator in the Economic Council of Al-Darbasiyah, said that the general mobilization is continuing due to what he described as the interim government’s failure to adhere to the provisions of the agreement and the absence of credibility in implementing the agreed-upon decisions.

He pointed out that the Kurdish issue remains without a clear solution and that the agreement faces obstacles resulting from the interference of external parties seeking to achieve their own interests.

He added that the continued presence of military forces and security forces in their positions is essential to ensure the protection of the region, stressing that the security situation in Syria, amid attempts by ISIS to reorganize its ranks, requires cautious handling.

He also noted that positive discussions are taking place quietly, expressing hope for reaching political solutions that would guarantee stability.

In her turn, Bushra Saleh, a member of the Economic Council in Al-Darbasiyah, affirmed that the continuation of the general mobilization is linked to the non-implementation of the agreement’s provisions and the absence of tangible steps on the ground. She explained that there are disagreements related to the recognition of the Kurdish component and issues such as co-presidency, emphasizing their commitment to the right to administer their regions due to their particular characteristics.

She stressed that the goal is to implement the agreement peacefully, stop the bloodshed, hand over detainees, and ensure recognition of all components within Syria, warning that continued delays in implementation could lead to dangerous escalation.

She concluded by noting that the intervention of external parties, including Turkey, affects the course of the agreement and delays its implementation.
