Ain Issa Council condemns targeting of journalists Cîhan and Nazim

Today, the Ain Issa City Council issued a statement to the public, condemning the Turkish occupation’s targeting of journalists Cîhan and Nazim. The statement was read by the co-chair of the Ain Issa City Council, Sabri Nabo, in the city council square, in the presence of dozens of members from council institutions and committees.

The statement denounced "the Turkish attacks on areas in the North and East Syria region and the targeting of journalists Cîhan Bîlgîn and Nazim Dashtan on Thursday by drone strikes while they were performing their duty to cover the crimes of the Turkish occupation and the resistance shown by the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces against it."

The statement called on "international powers and relevant organizations to condemn the Turkish occupation’s crimes against civilians and journalists," noting that through these attacks, "Turkey seeks to conceal the truth and prevent its crimes from being exposed to the public."

The statement reaffirmed "support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, which defend the unity of Syrian territory against the ambitions of the Turkish occupation, and the preservation of the revolution’s achievements made with the blood of the martyrs."
