Adonis calls for “Right to Hope” law for leader Ocalan’s release

The Syrian poet and thinker Ali Ahmad Said (Adonis) has called for the implementation of the “Right to Hope” law to secure the physical freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Adonis described the appeal issued by Ocalan as a “historic initiative capable of opening new horizons for a peaceful solution and coexistence in the region.”

He urged an end to the isolation imposed on Ocalan and the application of the “Right to Hope” principle, following more than 27 years of imprisonment, describing the situation as a “clear violation of fundamental human rights, contradicting the principles of justice and dignity upheld by free intellectuals worldwide.”

In a statement issued by the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Abdullah Ocalan, Adonis called for a serious response to Ocalan’s appeal for peace and democratic society, considering it a “historic initiative that can open new prospects for peaceful resolution and coexistence in the region.”

He stressed that implementing this appeal is not merely a political demand, but a humanitarian and moral obligation that serves the values of freedom and peace.
