Abduction citizen in rural Hama

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today that the fate of a citizen from the Alawite sect, who was kidnapped by unknown individuals two days ago in the Hama countryside, remains unknown. His family is appealing for information about his fate.

Sources indicated that the man is from the village of Tell Tatan in al-Ghab Plain, northwest of Hama. He was kidnapped from his home after midnight on November 9th when armed men stormed the house and took him to an unknown location.

His family confirmed that they had checked with police stations in Hama and Al-Suqaylabiyah, as well as security branches, without receiving any information about his whereabouts or fate.

The kidnapped man's son appeared in a video detailing the abduction and demanding immediate information about his father's fate and safety.

This incident comes amid a significant increase in kidnappings targeting members of the Alawite community in areas controlled by the Syrian Interim Government, particularly in the cities of Homs and Hama. Local authorities have taken no action to address this security breakdown, leading residents to perceive this as complicity on the part of the Interim Government's security forces.
