AANES declares public holiday for Labor Day

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced the suspension of work in all its official departments and institutions on Thursday, May 1st, in celebration of International Labor Day, except for entities whose work requires continued operation.

The Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the North and East Syria Region issued Circular No. 11, declaring a day off in all official departments and institutions affiliated with it on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, on the occasion of International Labor Day, except for departments whose work requires continuity.

The circular stated:

"Based on the official holidays law,

And in accordance with public interest requirements,

The Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the North and East Syria Region declares the following:

1- All official departments and institutions affiliated with the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region shall suspend work on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, on the occasion of International Labor Day, except for departments whose work requires continued operation.

2- This circular shall be delivered to all concerned for implementation."
