Mass demonstration in Derik demands freedom for Leader Ocalan

Hundreds of residents from the city of Derik, along with people from its towns and villages, took to the streets in a mass demonstration demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, affirming their determination to continue the struggle until this goal is achieved.

The participants gathered today in Freedom Square in Derik, raising pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and chanting slogans calling for his release, most notably: "No life without the leader."

The march started from Freedom Square and passed through the city's neighborhoods, including the central market, where participants carried banners reading "Freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan and a solution to the Kurdish issue."

Upon reaching the Martyrs’ Families Council, the participants observed a minute of silence. Then, Shadia Youssef, an administrator in the Kongra Star organization, delivered a speech emphasizing the continuation of the struggle until Leader Ocalan's freedom is achieved. She also highlighted the diplomatic and parliamentary efforts made by the women's movement toward this goal.

In turn, Cekar Afrin, an administrator in the Derik City Council, stressed "the importance of adhering to the ideology and philosophy of Leader Ocalan and continuing to demand his freedom tirelessly."

The demonstration concluded with chants of "Long live the Leader's resistance."
