In a statement issued today, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria condemned the massacre carried out by the Damascus government forces in the villages of al-Dahla and Jadidat al-Bikara.

The statement explained: "Once again, the Syrian regime shifts its focus elsewhere, completely ignoring what is happening in other Syrian regions and the clear and repeated violations of its sovereignty in Damascus and other areas. It is working to create discord and undermine stability in areas that are fully stable by supporting its mercenary groups and overseeing battles in Deir ez-Zor in agreement with Turkey and other forces to impose chaos and disrupt stabilization efforts, especially after its failure over a year ago to undermine the will of the people of Deir ez-Zor and its social symbols and original tribes."

The Democratic Autonomous Administration noted that, in a repetition of its well-known pattern, "the regime forces and their mercenaries committed a massacre against civilians in the al-Dahla area in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor early this morning, most of whom were children, resulting in 11 martyrs and more than 5 wounded due to the shelling."

The Democratic Autonomous Administration extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and the wounded and affirmed that: "The will of our people in Deir ez-Zor is stronger than those plans aimed at encircling their will and undermining their values. We rely on the awareness of our people from all components to confront these policies, which align entirely with Turkey’s goal to destroy our people's project."

The Autonomous Administration called on the international community and investigative committees to play their role in addressing this escalation and the massacres committed by the Damascus government, which seeks to save face by any means, after reaching the lowest levels of subservience and concession of sovereignty, and losing direction between areas it should protect and attacking safe and stable regions.
