ISIS mercenary cells carried out nine attacks during July across three Syrian governorates, resulting in five deaths and four injuries; however, ISIS claimed responsibility for only one of them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented nine operations carried out by ISIS mercenary cells in various parts of Syria during the month of July.

These attacks resulted in five deaths and four injuries.

For its part, ISIS claimed responsibility for only one operation via its online channels during July.

According to the Observatory’s statistics, the attacks were distributed across three governorates. Deir ez-Zor recorded the highest number with six operations, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and one ISIS mercenary, as well as injuries to three other individuals.

In Hasaka Governorate—specifically in the Serêkaniyê area—one operation was documented, resulting in the death of a member of the Ministry of Defense’s 60th Division.

In Aleppo Governorate, two operations were recorded, resulting in the death of one Ministry of Defense member and the injury of another.
