3d phase of "Humanitarian and Security" operation kicks off in Al-Hol camp

Today, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria issued a statement, which was read by Brigadier General Ali Al-Hassan, and the spokeswoman for the Women’s Protection Units, Rokn Jamal, in the presence of the Al-Hol camp administration and the participating forces.

The statement stated:

“Over the past years, the Autonomous Administration and its security and military forces have borne all the burdens related to preventing the escalation of the terrorist threat in Al-Hol camp, and reducing the brutality of the terrorist operations carried out by the cells of the terrorist organization against the camp’s residents.

During the last period, the terrorist organization ISIS worked to increase its activity and cells within the camp, taking advantage of the humanitarian conditions and the preoccupation of the military and security forces in confronting the attacks of the Turkish occupation and the mercenaries of the security services of the Syrian regime, as it carried out many criminal intimidation operations, murders, and pressure on the residents, burning humanitarian aid into the camp, including medical supplies, as well as creating an environment for terrorist cells, including increasing the recruitment and training of children in extremist ideology by the women of ISIS mercenaries.

Based on the confessions of many terrorist cell members who were arrested during the recent period, the terrorist organization, based on directives from its leader, planned to attack the camp from the outside in coordination with the cell movements inside, as Al-Hol Camp remains the terrorist organization’s primary target.

  We in the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria and the Syrian Democratic Forces, led by the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) and with the support of the international coalition to fight ISIS, announce the launch of the third phase of the “Humanitarian and Security” operation in Al-Hol camp to pursue ISIS terrorist cells.

The operation's forces, which have proven their worth and discipline in confronting terrorism during the long years of struggle and have made many sacrifices, renew their commitment to human rights laws and conventions, especially those that regulate the security mechanism for dealing with environments in which terrorist cells hide and exploit to carry out their terrorist operations.

After reading the statement, the Internal Security Forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the Women’s Protection Units began the combing operation within the camp according to the established plan.
