SDF thwarts new infiltration of armed groups in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor

The Syrian Democratic Forces thwarted a new infiltration attempt by armed groups from the west bank of the Euphrates River into the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and the forces said: "The area is completely under the control of our forces".

ANHA correspondents in Deir ez-Zor, citing field military sources, reported that their forces managed in the late hours of last night; thwarting a new infiltration attempt by armed groups from the western bank of the Euphrates River into the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, killing and wounding dozens of them.

Yesterday, according to the Media Center of the SDF, the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnessed "the infiltration of armed groups belonging to the security services of the Syrian regime, under indiscriminate artillery shelling, from the city of Al-Mayaden on the western bank of the Euphrates River, into areas in the Al-Thiban district, east of Deir ez-Zor".

The Center said: "Our forces surrounded 2 groups of armed men belonging to the security services affiliated with the Syrian regime in the town of Thiban".

The Media Center of the SDF recently revealed on its official website that their forces were able to expel the armed groups from the town of Thiban.
