4 Syrian soldiers killed in southern countryside of Idlib
Sniper operations and ongoing clashes between Damascus forces and mercenaries in the Idlib countryside resulted in the killing of four Damascus forces.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a member of the Damascus forces was killed today, after being sniped by Ansar al-Tawhid mercenaries on the Al-Malajah axis in the Idlib countryside.
SOHR added that after midnight on Wednesday - Thursday, Damascus forces launched a violent attack after midnight of Wednesday-Thursday, attempting to advance on Al-Malajah axis in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, south of Idlib, amid artillery and missile shelling, and violent clashes that ended with their failure in advancing. The clashes resulted in the death of three Syrian soldiers, the injury of others and the destruction of a “BMB” vehicle, and the clashes are still intense.
Yesterday, Russian warplanes escalated their bombing of the Idlib countryside, coinciding with violent ground bombardment carried out by Damascus government forces on the villages and towns of Jabal al-Zawiyah.
