Damascus government raises fuel prices for second time in 2 weeks

The so-called "Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection" in the Damascus government raised the prices of "95-octane" gasoline, free diesel, fuel and liquid gas dokma, which is the second increase in 2 weeks.

In its decision, which comes into force today, Monday, August 28, it set the selling price of a liter of "95 octane" gasoline at 14,700 Syrian pounds instead of 13,500 pounds, which was the price it had set on August 15.

It also raised the price of a liter of free diesel from 11,550 to 12,800 pounds.

As for the price of a ton of fuel, it rose to 8 million and 532 thousand and 400 pounds, after it was about two weeks ago 7 million and 887 thousand and 500 pounds.

The price of a ton of liquid gas, dokma, rose from 9,372,500 pounds to 10,400,000 pounds.

On August 15, the Damascus government raised the prices of diesel fuel, gasoline, fuel and liquid gas, a few hours after Bashar al-Assad issued a legislative decree to increase salaries for workers in the public sector by 100 percent, which led to the outbreak of popular protests in areas under his control, calling for al-Assad’s departure, especially in Al-Suwayda.
