Violent explosions rock Damascus

The Observatory confirmed that on Sunday violent explosions were heard in the capital, Damascus, and its environs, which turned out to be caused by an explosion in missile depots belonging to groups affiliated with Iran, in a mountainous area west of the capital, Damascus.

It was reported that the explosions caused material damage, no casualties have been reported so far.

"There is no information yet about the nature of the incident, whether the cause was bombing from the air or an operation from the ground," Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told AFP.

An agency affiliated with the Damascus government indicated, during the night, that explosions were heard in the vicinity of Damascus, without specifying the reasons and details.

It is noteworthy that, on the seventh of this month, Israel targeted areas north of the Syrian capital, killing 6 people, 4 of whom were members of the Damascus forces, in addition to injuring at least 7 others.
