New attack with the completion of the Lausanne centenary on legitimate defense areas

On July 21, the Media Center of the People's Defense Forces revealed, through a written statement, that the Turkish occupation army launched, on July 19, an air and ground attack on the Orti hill area in Matina, starting from the locations and bases of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stressing that the latter "has turned this area into a checkpoint for the Turkish occupation army, openly cooperating with the enemy and supporting it."

In a related context, the People's Defense Forces announced, last Saturday, the elimination of 16 soldiers of the Turkish occupation army in Zap and Matina, and a helicopter was hit.

The joint attack between the Turkish occupation army and the Kurdistan Democratic Party came just days before the centenary of the Treaty of Lausanne, which was signed by France, Britain and the fascist Turkish state on July 24, 1923, at a time when the Kurds are organizing many activities with the aim of getting rid of the repercussions of that ominous treaty, and after the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit that was held in Lithuania between July 11 and 12.

The joint attack is not the first of its kind, as the Kurdistan Democratic Party has previously launched joint attacks with the occupying power against freedom fighters.

In the years 1992, 1995 and 1997, the Kurdistan Democratic Party attacked the defense areas of Mediya in conjunction with the Turkish occupation state, but in 2020 it intensified its activities against the Kurdistan Liberation Movement.

In the spring of 2020, the Kurdistan Democratic Party established bases in the Zina Warti region and deployed its forces in those areas, in addition to establishing permanent bases in those lands (Mediya Defense Zones), in which it had not been present for decades, and the occupying Turkish army used them as intelligence centers and launched attacks.

At that time, the Kurdistan Communities Union's statement stated: "As they (the Guerrilla fighters) were subjected to bombardment as a result of intelligence work, there are no barracks or camps in the area close to the place where the Guerrilla forces are stationed, except for the camp of the Peshmerga forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

April 24 attack and the Khalifan ambush

These practices have been renewed once again, and the KDP forces have tried to ignite a new war that serves the Turkish occupier. The Turkish attacks on the mountains of Kurdistan under different names have not stopped since April 24, 2021 in the regions of Avashin, Zap and Matina.

And the Kurdistan Communities Union KCK, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, warned that it would be a tool for implementing the plans of the Turkish occupation state, but the latter expanded its role in the attacks, and ambushed the Guerrilla fighters in the Khalifan region in Southern Kurdistan in late August 2021, and caused the martyrdom of 6 male and female fighters.

The attacks did not stop here only, but continued with a new attack targeting a squad of Guerrilla in Balisan Valley in Khalifan again on the night of September 7, 2022, which resulted in the death of 3 Guerrilla fighters, and two of them were wounded, while the Democratic Party authorities have not yet clarified the fate and whereabouts of the injured.
