Omar Konish on behalf of the Human Rights Office participated via video, in the international forum organized by the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies under the slogan "Lausanne: Correcting Paths and Issues of Regional Stability and Security," which was held in the Sheto resort of the city of Hasaka.

Konish hoped that the meeting would reach positive results, and referred to some of the leader Abdullah Ocalan's assessments about the Treaty of Lausanne, and said: "According to Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdish people had no place within the framework of international laws, so the rights of the individual were seen according to categories." And the rights of society and beliefs are not seen, which made the crisis more complicated and remains unresolved this theory, which began with the Treaty of Lausanne, led to international recognition of the Republic of Turkey and the formation of a new map, as it made the Armenian, Assyrian and Greek people into minorities and did not give the Kurds any rights, this The rapprochement is indicative of the erasure of the Kurdish people from a cultural and social point of view."

He added, "We must thoroughly analyze the plans of Western imperialist countries and the Turkish authority, as the backwardness of the Middle East after the Lausanne Agreement is closely related to the policies of Western countries."

He explained, "The Turks and the Jews had a fundamental role in establishing the Turkish Republic, but the Christian component was outside that, that is why it became a prey to the Turkish authorities and was subjected to extermination."

Konish added: "With the beginning of 1920, the nationalists made progress in what was called the War of Independence, pushing to get rid of the Sevres Agreement and the covenants made to the Kurds, and applied a policy of Turkification against them to obliterate their identity. This agreement has many clauses, but it did not mention anything about the Kurds, only some general articles that affirm that all citizens in Turkey will be protected regardless of their nationality and culture."

Konish touched on the societal spirit that people enjoyed before the Treaty of Lausanne, and said: "During the years 1919-1922, there was a participatory spirit between communities and components. The Treaty of Amasya and the Arzarum and Sivas Conference prove that. There was a democratic form and each component enjoyed its democracy and resolved its issues." according to its standards.

He indicated that the Lausanne Agreement was the last agreement to divide Kurdistan, "they liquidated and exterminated all those who rose up against the provisions of this treaty."

Konish made the point clear, "The Turkish Republic was run through military coups and arbitrary measures, and now the Justice and Development Party is playing this role and is trying to liquidate the Kurds completely."

On the other hand, Omar Konish said, "I support the people and representatives of freedom and I call for freedom and I am not affiliated with anyone. We will eliminate Lausanne and build a democratic treaty, and we revive the brotherhood between the Kurds and the Turks. We are against differences."

He concluded his speech by stressing that the Treaty of Lausanne was an international treaty and did not include the peoples and the Republic of Turkey was established as a result of it, but now we need democracy and social treaty, by which all outstanding crises will be resolved and democracy will prevail in society.

Currently, there is a structure for it, but it needs hard work, and the Kurds must prepare for it well.”

In the meantime, the forum continues with the holding of the first session of the forum's 6 sessions, which bears the name "The Political Situation in the Region before the Lausanne Agreement".
