​​​​​​​PYD General Council: Key to the solution in Imrali

Member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Elham Mohammad stressed: “The reasons for imposing disciplinary sanctions on the leader Abdullah Ocalan must be revealed. The justification for the recent decision banning meetings with the leader for another 6 months should be clarified. This is an unacceptable measure. The authorities should take the sensitivity of the Kurdish public opinion seriously. This event is very dangerous."

She added, "The leader Abdullah Ocalan has been subjected to brutal isolation, since his arrest and handover to the Turkish state 24 years ago, on February 15, 1999. Through isolation, they seek to limit the spread of his ideas and philosophy."

"The key to the solution lies in Imrali," she stressed.

At the end of her speech, Elham Mohamed stressed the need to clarify the state of ambiguity and uncover the situation in Imrali. It also called on humanitarian organizations to intervene.

For his part, a member of the PYD's General Council, Walid Dankali, explained: "They are tightening the isolation on the leader, and recently they have extended the period of banning meetings with him for a period of 6 months, with the aim of keeping the Middle East region in a state of war and conflict perpetually and not finding a solution to the issues. We must obtain According to Imrali's information, this isolation may affect anyone's mental and physical health."

Dankali stressed the escalation of the struggle, the dissemination of the philosophy of Leader “APO”, and the protection of the project of the democratic nation.

A member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Asaad Manan, commented on the matter: “Leader “APO” seeks to consolidate the brotherhood of peoples’ project, not only in the four parts of Kurdistan but all over the world, but the Turkish state imposes strict isolation on him to limit the implementation of his project, because he relies on the will of the people. Therefore, the isolation is tightened against him.”

Manan appealed to "all human rights organizations to act in accordance with their laws." Demanding to lift the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The Turkish state has imposed isolation on the leader, Abdullah Ocalan, for more than 27 months, as no information has been received from Imrali since March 25, 2021, amid continuing “disciplinary penalties” against him, with the intention of depriving him of the “right to hope” that permits the release of the detainee after 25 years have passed since he was imprisoned without any penalty
