A local source from the occupied Girê Spî canton reported that the young settler, Alaa Asim Shehadeh committed suicide, as the difficult living conditions and the high cost of all means of life, including bread, water, etc., in addition to the lack of job opportunities to help them confront difficult life circumstances.

According to the source, the settler whom Turkey expelled from its lands earlier as part of its settlement project aimed at settling one million Syrian refugees in the occupied territories hails from the city of Yabroud in the countryside of Damascus.

ANHA agency documented, after the Turkish authorities announced at the beginning of April of last year their settlement project in the occupied areas of Syria in each of (Girê Spî, Serêkaniyê, Jarabulus and other occupied cities) that they deported more than 22,000 settlers from the cities of "Aleppo, Hama, Idlib, and the countryside of Damascus,” and settled them in the homes of the forcibly displaced.

It should be noted that the people of the occupied areas of Girê Spî staged two separate demonstrations on the 14th and 17th of June to protest against the difficult living conditions they suffer from and the control of the occupier and his mercenaries over their livelihood.
