Changing the name of "Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan"

The meeting was held in the Lawyers Union hall in the city of Raqqa, and was attended by members of the Syrian Committee for the Extermination of the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, members of the Lawyers Union in Raqqa, human rights figures from different regions in North and East Syria, and members of the Public Authority for the Defense of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The meeting began with standing a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, then the member of the Lawyers Union for North and East Syria, lawyer Mohammad Al-Nuaimi, read the report of the defense committee for Mr. The leader Ocalan was kidnapped from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, with an international conspiracy, and it is the day that the people called the black day.

Mohammad al-Nuaimi added, "The announcement of this body was in a statement that was recited in front of the Social Justice Council building in Jazira located in Qamishlo. According to this statement, its formation was disclosed from the lawyers who are members registered with all the unions of North and East Syria.

Also, the work schedule for lawyers during the years 2021 to 2023 was discussed about the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Then, the door for interventions was opened for the audience, where lawyer Abdullah Al-Arian spoke about the strict isolation of the leader and how Turkey rejects all requests to meet him, and stressed the need to establish Abdullah Ocalan Office for Human Rights.

In his turn, a member of the defense committee for the leader, Roshin Haddo, confirmed that the strict isolation of the leader is a crime against humanity, and international efforts must be intensified and communication with the Committee against Torture (CPT) to disclose the health status of the leader.

Also, a member of the defense team spoke about the leader Khaled Omar, who stressed the need for lawyers in North and East Syria to unite in order to achieve the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The meeting concluded with changing the name of the "Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan" to the "Syrian Lawyers' Initiative for the Defense of Leader Abdullah Ocalan", with its center in Qamishlo, and the election of six members for media, relations and human rights research.
