PKK calls on people to escalate struggle against fascist, murderous mentality

PKK's leadership committee issued a statement, on the occasion of the eighteenth of May, Martyrs' Day in Kurdistan, in which it recalled the martyrs of the month of May, the text of the statement read:

"As it is known, we presented our first martyrs on the 18th of May 1977 in Dilok, during the struggle of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement. Our struggle for freedom and our party that leads us to freedom, was founded for the memory of our first and great martyr, Comrade Haki Karer whom the leader Apo said“ he was like my hidden soul” The correct adoption of the memory of the martyrdom of comrade Haki Karer brought new martyrdoms and resistance with it."

" On May 18, 1978, comrade Halil Çavgun was martyred in Helwan, and on May 17, 1982, the four comrades were martyred in the prison resistance. The historic prison in Amed, and on May 16, 1997, nearly seventy comrades were martyred in Hewler as a result of the betrayal of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Therefore, the month of May was called the “Month of the Martyrs of Kurdistan” and the eighteenth of May Kurdistan Martyrs Day."

"We, as the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and the Kurdish people, have entered a new month for the martyrs and a new day for the martyrs of the eighteenth of May. On the forty-sixth anniversary of his martyrdom, we remember the first comrade and the great revolutionary, Haki Karer, with all respect, love and gratitude, in the person of the comrade, we renew our pledge to them to achieve their goals and adopt their memory. We also salute leader Apo, who we consider to be the spokesman for the martyrs and his historical resistance in Imrali, and we point out that in the forty-seventh year of the struggle and on the line of the leader and the martyrs, we will surely achieve victory."

"As it is known that there are great martyrs in the month of May in the struggle of the revolutionary movement in Turkey. On May 6, 1972, Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hussein Inan were executed in Ankara, and on May 18, 1973 Ibrahim Kaypakkaya was martyred in the Security Directorate in Amed under torture. At the end of May, Sinan Jamil and his friends were martyred in the light of truth during the battles. On the fiftieth anniversary of their martyrdom, we remember in the person of the great martyrs Ibrahim Kaypakkaya and Sinan Jamil, all the heroic martyrs of the democratic and socialist struggle in Turkey with love and respect."

"Our martyrs are the main force that educates, organizes, unites and drives us as a people and a movement. It is our past, present and future. They are always and everywhere our main source of strength. They have always been the leaders of our struggle for freedom. It is clear that in the past fifty years, everything that has been achieved in the name of freedom on the basis of the sacrifice and courage of our heroic martyrs. When we walk on the line of martyrs correctly, we always win. That is why we have always trained ourselves on the line of martyrs."

"Undoubtedly, this truth will be from now on in this way, as a movement and a people, we will train ourselves on the line of the leader and the martyrs, and we will fight against the enemy on this basis, and we will create new and great victories, of course, the fascist and murderous enemy leaves us no other way, and that the results of the May 14 elections It requires us to fight more strongly and ceaselessly against fascist and murderous politics and mentality."

"We call on all the comrades in the party, our patriotic people, and our democratic friends, to criticize themselves more in the line of the martyrs and the leader, to hold themselves accountable, to renew themselves, and to understand the reality of the heroic martyrs well, which began with comrade Haki Karer and continued until comrade Gul Çia, Hajar and Delkhwaz, organize activities, visit the shrine of the martyrs, adopt the reality of the martyrs more, follow the line of the martyrs, defeat the fascist and murderous enemy, establish a free life forcefully based on the freedom of women in Kurdistan."
